From 12 to 26 March 2011
350 km in 9 stages.

This raid is a new Ultra Challenge of high level. It is organized by RSO, a well-experienced association and a team of local mountain guide who know perfectly the countryside.
We were entirely won over by the the majestic and impressive nature of this region...
The glaciers, the nature reserves, and the hospitality of the South American have finally persuaded us to launch this new adventure.

The course:

Waymarked (GPS allowed)

This route is given for information only, it can be modified for weather or security reasons.

 

Obligatory kit :

- 1 survival blanket.
- 1 signaling mirror.
- 1 whistle .
- 1 headlamp
- Batteries
- 1 lighter.
- 1 small first aid kit 
- 1 compass
- 1 pocket knife
- 3 Cyalum
- the passport
- 2 tissues
- Hydration System
- 2 liters minimum
- 1 roll of elasto
- 1 windcheater

We supply :


- tents : "North Face VE25" (or equivalent )
- groundsheets

Day 1: Flight : Paris-Buenos Aires

Day 2: a 3-hour flight : Buenos Aires - Calafate. Night at "Hotel Calafate"

Day 3: Visit: Installation at the first camp

Day 4: Stage 1 : Lago del Desierto / Candelario mancilla

Day 5: Stage 2 : Candelario mancia / Estancia el Condor

Day 6: Stage 3 : Estancia el Condor / Presqu île Maipu

Day 7: Stage 4 : Estancia el Condor / Pto San Jorge

Day 8: Stage 5 : Pto San Jorge / Estancia 9 de Julio

Day 9 : Day of rest

Day 10: Stage 6 : Estancia 9 de Julio / Pto el podrido

Day 11: Stage 7 : Pto el podrido / Estancia La Laurita

Day 12 : Stage 8 : Estancia La Laurita / Charles Fur

Day 13 : Stage 9 : Estancia Anita / Estancia Nipebo Aike

Day 14 : Stage 10 : El Chaten

Day 15 : Visit of the "Perito Glacier" Moreno/glacier/camp Bacl to Calafate - Transfer : Night at hotel
